My Chemical Romance fic - a rec list for newbies

I've seen this in spuzz's journal yesterday and apparently, a few people on her flist are doing it as well.
So here is my take on the MCR FIC FOR NEWBIES rec list.
This list is obviously non exhaustive.
I tried to include my all time favorites but I probably forgot a lot of fantastic stories.

Oh god, reading this list brings back so many memories! *hands* I don't disagree with a single thing on your list. But I think Holly Golightly would be on my list as well as the Forever, Now 'verse. There's also the one by etben where someone leaves a child outside the bus for the boys to adopt? That one too.

Actually, I don't remember reading Forever, Now. I need to check it out and make sure I didn't skip it.

Ooh, what you should do is listen to podklb's podfic of Forever, Now! Even if you've never listened to podfic/don't think you like podfic--IT IS SO WORTH IT. She recently finished the whole story, and she does an AMAZING job.

That's a great list! Several of them would definitely be on my newbie rec list too. I would probably add in a bunch of Bob/Gerard and Gerard/Mikey and Gerard/Ray and also some gen stories I think.

Hehe They're all Frank/gerard because that's how I roll. :)

But yeah. If I had to put a Bob/Frank in there it would be the werewolf!Bob/vampire!Frank BBB I did a mix for last year.

Hahaha, that pretty much what I'd post as my newbie list, too. Skin of the Canvas *was* actually my first story :D And +1 to the Holly Golightly Club.

Also, Gerard Way's (Vampire) Detective Agency by jjtaylor (of which there is amazing podfic done by Fayjay), Rogues and Queens by airgiodslv, bexless's Conclusions (which has also been podficced), mxtape's 50s Nasa AU, the heartbreaking His Ruins were beautiful by softlyforgotten (ALSO PODFICCED!). And finally, lovelypoet's Chloe!verse.

Got a bit carried away there *g*

Yeah. I think Skin of the Canvas was one of my first too. Such a fantastic story.

I love Gerard Way's (Vampire) Detective Agency, the NASA Au and His Ruins were Beautiful.
Oh yeah and Conclusions.
I'm not sure I read Rogues and Queens though. :/

most of these would also make my newbie rec list! i love love love unholyverse, it's my favorite fic ever. followed closely by nightswimming!

i'm glad you're listening to forever, now! it took me a while to actually read it because it didn't really sound like something i'd be interested in, but it's SO AMAZING. and all the sequels! you must read those as well.

Yeah. I've waited this long because I wasn't sure I'll enjoy it. It might take me a long time to get through it but I intend to keep at it.
