Yeah... I think I'm going to try to get away with not paying the fee.
The way I see it, you only have to start paying the fee when you are making 10,000 pounds or more per year. If I never actually do any over 10,000 pound work in the UK, then they can't make me pay. And it doesn't matter if I do work in other countries, for they will never know about it or be able to find out how much I'm making if I don't work under my UK national insurance number. (this also means that I do not get any of the benefits that the UK has for those paying their taxes and working in this country, either, though)
Since I'm hoping to be in America by September, and stay there for at least 5 years, there's no point in forking over 2,000 some odd pounds that I could use for a plane ticket, books, or a summer tour of the baltic.
Do they scuba dive a lot in Finland? You got me confused there! easily done. Looking at the TV news this morning there is no mention on any of them, even Al Jazeera English, of the Saddam execution today. So by the time most people wake up after the New Year and return to normal - it's like it never happened, to those who don't watch much news. So the big rush to hang him quick right now, is explained. Each new year makes me a little more cynical.
Happy New Year! (regardless!)
Fees - a lot of people go bankrupt. The UK law changed to make it quick and easy, you get solvent in no time. Then the housing market beckons. Never-ending, life's full of it;D.
