Where is this? It's beautiful. It looks painted. Are they sand dunes in the front?

It's a place called Painted Hills in central Oregon. I think the coloration is from mineral deposits and lava flow. It was all very unearthly.

i have been craving the desert lately and that is so so so unlike me. i've never seen it before.

It seems I always crave it. There's an openness in deserts that you don't find anywhere else.

I'm sorry I never responded to your text. I was hoping I might be able to come visit before school starts, but it's not looking good. Everything has been kind of a mess, and I'm pretty broke too. I wish I could come up with D, Sean, and Jess, but I believe they're going the week after i start school so. . . unfortunately that won't work. Someday I'll return to Portland though. In the meantime, I miss you somethin' awful, and I'm thinking about you and hoping you're doing well.
