It never fails to upset me whenever I hear about this, especially when the problem is irresponsible humans and not the dogs themselves. Both Jerry and Peanut are fantastic dogs, I love them both, and they've always been so much fun to be around. Jerry's climbed all over me many a time and never once did I feel the slightest bit threatened. He's such a sweetie! In fact, all of the bulls I've ever known have been wonderful, genuinely friendly dogs and I adore them.
Here's hoping that none of this comes to pass. If (god forbid) it did, then just know that I'm willing to help Jerry and Da Nut out in any way I can short of taking them myself. As much as I really wish I could if the situation called for it, my golden, sweet and lovable as he may be to any two-legged folks he meets, is a bit animal aggressive.
Big hugs and lots and lots of love to Jerry, Peanut, you, and Brandon :)

Jerry Lee and Da Nut (and of course, Grendel) miss the fuck out of you.
I wish that they could put some legislation on breeding pit bulls. This is really the largest problem. Out of a litter of six, average is five are put to sleep without having grown up. It's really sick.
Give your baby (and you) a big smooch for all of us. We miss you!

It looks like pit bulls that have been here for six months minimum are "grandfathered" in. How fucking nice!
My concern now is that our local pit bull rescue league brings in pit bulls from out of state to rehabilitate them. She wouldn't be able to do that with the proposed law.

It's just so sad. :-( One thing that really affected me was on Animal Cops one evening. They had taken a bunch of pits from this guy who was fighting them. They had to ALL BE PUT DOWN. A vet was holding one while it licked her face and wagged its tail happily. I almost cried. :-( I think she was about to, as well. People can't seem to separate the idea of dog-on-human aggression from dog-on-animal aggression.

Just as there are people and there are people, there are pitties and there are pitties. I can think of a few PEOPLE who oughta be euthanized....
