new least favorite thing ever: unreturned phone calls, text messages, emails, and comments.

thanks, Phoenix, for detatching yourself from me. I guess it'll make the process easier.

good to know where I stand.

Okay, this is really random from your site but i sent you a little IM earlier, but just in case you don't get it, here is my question: "i know that you are not around....but i have a question, whenever you get to it. I am taking notes for a girl who is deaf in one of my classes...when I approach her about anything, note clarification or whatever, who do I speak to and look at, the interpreter or the girl...is one considered rude or disrespectful, just curious so that I don't unknowingly hurt any feelings or do a major faux pa (sp?)" I figure that you of all people I know would be an excellent source of advice! Love you....can't wait to see you...:) I'll see if I can work out my pre-spring break week for fun with Steppy!

hey! ok. the girl should look at the deaf girl...not the interpreter, and also try not to say "tell her...blah blah blah". . after all, she is giving the information to the girl for the girl's benefit. I know classroom setups can be tricky, but it helps if she can stand or sit in a place where the deaf girl can see both her and the interpreter. if the girl just talked to the deaf girl without the interpreter signing, the interpreter will have to retain all that information and wait till the girl is done, then give it to the deaf girl. if the deaf girl could see both the interpreter's signs and the girl's expressions, it's the best situation. :) hope that helps.
