good riddance

last week, one of my staff emailed me on sunday to tell me she was quitting, effective immediately, meaning she wouldn't be there monday, despite knowing that we probably wouldn't be able to find coverage on such short notice. i won't even go into how shitty, selfish, and unprofessional that was, because surely anyone with a brain and a conscience ( Read more... )

i know, it's truly pathetic.

i work with people half her age who are twice as responsible and mature.

i hate conflict, too, and i understand that she hates it even more than i do. but she took the whole avoidance thing too far, and never stopped to consider (or did consider, but didn't care) how difficult it would make things for everyone else, including our clients, who are a very vulnerable segment of the population.

really, she's the biggest (and certainly the oldest) brat i know!
