I have a raging headache. This whole being an adult thing, yeah...not so fun. I'm so sick of slicing through red tape. Between fighting with my insurance company, playing phone tag with my dr's office, email tag with Pearson, and scouring the net to find an online class for my education credit requirements, plus I need to start thinking about ( Read more... )

*sends mind bullets at the people who are having the class for them to let you in*

if all else fails, you will just have to let my mom recommend you for bank street and start during their winter session!

and i do hope you won't be naked forever. that would be very embarrassing.

Okay first, don't even joke about being stuck in Buff.

And second, I can try to help you find a class. Just tell me what you need, where, ect. I'll make it happen *nods*

And we should kill two birds with one stone and get haircuts together

I got my hair cut the other day at this over priced, but well reviewed salon. Yeah...the hairdresser made me stand during my entire haircut because 'my hair was so long it was hitting the chair' and thus was preventing him from being able to cut a straight line. Excuse me?!?!

hvcc is like the biggest pushover school in this universe.

not only did i enroll for a program that involved mandatory matriculation (i think it was like.... over a year before i was :P ) the DAY BEFORE the beginning of the semester, i was also able to get away with using a cpr course as a chemistry with lab requirement for graduation.

you will like, have no problem. look at me. all my tomfoolery and complete dumb in anything related to college and im going to be a licensed funeral director in less than two months. you are so golden. :D

and their online classes use blackboard which is like a million times better than angel.

goodluck! keep the internetz posted!!!!!

hHaha, sweet. Yeah I was able to register over the phone this morning, which was like the easiest thing in the universe. But now I just need to figure out how to log into blackboard and what books to get and all. Do they send you like a username and password or anything? And do they list course texts online or should I just call the bookstore? I'm glad I know someone who's taken classes there. :)

if i recall correctly, you need your "H" number. i think i had to make a bunch of phone calls for that because i registered so late and a bunch of other garbage. just definitely from the start explain the situation that you are an out of town student who JUST registered. it seemed to speed things up for me whenever i threw that out into the open ( ... )

it's called language and literacy development, or something like that. i need it as one of my 12 required education credits for my teaching fellowship.

it doesn't start til june 30th, so i'm hoping they'll send me more info in the mail along with my bill. but if i don't get it by next week i am definitely calling.

and honestly i hate online classes, i took one at GCC in the fall, and ugh. i do not have the motivation to teach myself at all. and it was super nice of ecc to fill you in on the way that course was run. is it me, or do they really do everything pretty half-assed there? it's just the impression i've gotten.

thanks again for the info!

Don't worry, you'll make it out of Buffalo. Unlike some of us, who have already taken jobs here...

Blackboard is easy enough to use. The syllabus is *usually* posted online, and that'll have your books on it. And just call and boss those bitches around to get your user name/password. :)

Oh, and this is unrelated, but does your daycare hire high school students at all? My sister's looking for a new summer job (Ange).
