The Memphis video shoot was a charmed day- full of champagne, stolen grins with a preternaturally gorgeous boy,  and the realization that I should have gone into acting.     Pretending to coo over a baby and greet the pretend mother for film  felt no more awkward than doing it in real life.   So my natural awkwardness has prepared me for something. Since I live my life through signs I'm taking this as proof that the gods of rock'n'roll want me to join the pantheon and so on Friday I will become the owner of an acoustic guitar.

It feels good not to have to give anything up.

I met the angels Michael and Gabriel in a rundown bar run like a speakeasy.  They were drawn looking, like life on earth had done them wrong.   They came in the guise of two over the hill  club kids, possibly ex-lovers,  who watched their friends deteriorate, but stayed in the scene even when the scene was only populated by the weak and the dead.  ( Read more... )
