All I can say, is I am glad the city government is ignoring him. In my hopes of hopes, it's probably because it is know that there is no "easy fix" for prostitution and it isn't as simple as putting them in jail. Besides, it would be a strange move to congratulate some vigilante by taking in the women he finds. I just don't understand the big hero attitude about it.

The misogyny on YouTube is crushing. I had that video of me in the strip club on YouTube, and I got SO MANY self-congratulatory, arrogant comments from uptight, socially conservative, "moral" people - mostly teenagers, probably - about how I'm so degraded, and "how can you live with yourself?" It doesn't surprise me that the average YouTube viewer actually is *that* misogynist and socially conservative

the bullshit about "saving families" because putting women (often uneducated, often lower class, often single mothers) out of work and harassing them is totally good for their families/kids who are dependent on their income.

Also, people need to quit making the mistake of conflating the sex industry with a beauty pageant because it's just not the same thing.I am totally feeling this one. I am fascinated with the beauty standard in porn, it's so twisted and utterly removed from "the real world". I'm really speaking specifically about heterosexual video porn. There are stars that are conventionally attractive, but they're rare in comparison to the heavily made up plain janes in the bulk of the porn market. I just feel like once the actress is nude and TOTALLY available, as long as she's in some mere trappings of feminine beauty-- nails, long hair, and make up and a tan, she's just there as body parts and her personal beauty doesn't matter anymore

It's a pointless battle. I just feel like lines can't be drawn anywhere in the scenario to make a "crime". A woman stands around, a man asks to pay her for sex, she says yes and it happens. Where in this sitution did the actual society-crushing crime happen??
The local policy in Minneapolis regarding prostitution reeks of sexual double standards for men and women! If johns get busted in Minneapolis, it's up to 90 days in jail or $1,000 fine. If hookers get busted, it's up to a year in jail or $3,000 fine.
