promised to tell our similarities so here goes ;) Im not going to go into everything but, my mother was an emotionally absent mother as well, we lived with my grandmother and she raised me. My Grandmother passed on in 1996 and my mother passed on in March 1997.
I was also an addict, meth was my d.o.c., I have been clean since May 1997. I had been using since my early teens. I beat it all on my own too. Though it took me moving across country to do so.
My daughter has PDD-NOS as well, she is on the severe end of the PDD spectrum though, she is 3 and tests at 15 months average all around. She is verbal though, but is very limited in her communication skills, her major problems mostly circle around the social-emotional skills, which she is making some small improvements. Though she has been in therapy since she was 8 months old.
anyway :)
You are such a strong lady to have made it through what you have been through :)
Hi, I found your journal through the special parents community, & I am enjoying reading your posts. I am new to LJ too, & actually am new to having an online journal, so I am still figuring things out, but I would like to add you to my friends list if that is ok.
Of course you can add me!placid_chaosMarch 22 2003, 16:58:50 UTC
I was just over at your diary, as a matter of fact! You and I have much in common also--including our loss (and I hear you when you say that, your twin boys will ALWAYS be a part of your family.)
I am over to your diary now to comment there as well!

And, trust me--I am one of those 'tell all' types so--if someone offends me, they know! :D
Glad to meet you too! And, I look forward to reading MORE.
(A friend just called to go out for a drink--if ANYONE thinks I am giving THAT up, they are nuts! LOL)
