I always forget you shouldn't trust people.  The police station ordeal was handled relatively smoothly, and I only had to bribe them $60.  I suppose that's fine.  However, remember the guy I hit?  Well, in order to get out of the station quicker we told them I'd pay for the damage to the bikes and his medical bills, etc, all of which I was fine
