Konstantin Shamray

Back from the concert... and he is unbelievely amazing. Konstantin is so much better than that guy who performed last year (which might explain the need to buy tickets this time round, 'cept I have the priveldges of being a music student =]).

Brief recount of the night... and his beautiful hands*_* )

Oh wooow, he played all of those? *.* I wish I could have seen his performance!

I would have loved to hear the Rachmaninoff piece *is a whore for a bit of Rachmaninoff >D* Can you remember the name of it by any chance?

And oooh Tristan and Isolde! One of my tutors played that to us in class and explained how it was a very significant piece in bridging atonality with tonal harmony. There have been like, books written on just the significance of the 'Tristan chord'! O.O

Aww sounds like you had a great evening ^u^

Ah, no, I can't remember the Rachmaninoff piece he played. It's not in the program either because he was originally going to play Scriabin, but changed his mind during the second break interval. I'm not familiar with Rachmaninoff's pieces either, so I doubt I would remember, even if I heard it... T_T

My first time for Wagner's music too, so I have no idea what's going on (am only familiar with a few composers...). But from what you're telling me, it definitely sounds like a important part of music history. The only reason I remember this one is because I recognise the names 'Tristan' and 'Isolde' from a korean manga I read.

Mm, it was a wonderful evening~. I only wish piano concerts were easier to come by.
