Although you've pointed out just about every other hypocritical statement in this letter, I find it really strange that this person doesn't want the national anthem sung in Spanish or any other language -- if he's really the cultural imperialist he claims to be, shouldn't he be glad that we're translating the sonic emblem of American "sovereignty" and "culture" for non-English speaking people? How can he reasonably expect "immigrants, not Americans" to adapt without somehow giving them a foot in the door? And where did you find this gem of a letter anyway, Shekinah?

Well, as I said, the commentary is mine. The letter, however, was a chain letter found on Myspace, of course. Stupid shit. It's funny though, if you don't imagine this person voting.
