Today was one of those lovely nights.
I biked home from work quickly and in gorgeous weather. The cats greeted me and we lazed about for a while on the bed while I browsed the internet.

This year was notable for Not Seeing People. There were a lot of people who I wanted to see but only saw for about half a second. For example, it took until 5:30 on Saturday for me to see chlomar, I never did get to dance with meanfreepath, and I didn't get to see or dance with Will K. until late Saturday.

I don't get angry often. But right now I am livid. I have fucking had it with Amtrak. They are rarely on time (I know they have stats saying otherwise - but in my experience, they are more than frequently over 30 minutes late). They are expensive (significantly moreso than flying even though the trip takes longer). Their customer service sucks.

Septa's not been in good shape recently. As has been pointed out by many:
Monday - beginning of strike. Buses and subways stop running but regional rail trains are still in service (is my understanding)
Tuesday - R5 catches on fire
Wednesday - Septa track inspector killed by train

Not having a car, I end up depending on Amtrak to get around more than I would like.
