Bed at 4:30 or 5?

Feb 21, 2006 15:50

I consumed too much caffeine last night, too many calories, too much of stay awake bits and peices. I didn't even pull an all-nighter, but now my brain is in limbo. I'm not tired, but I can't make sense of anything and I feel dizzy and gauzy, like my skin could float off.

I am definitely WAY less hardcore than I thought.

I think there are many, many people who could (but wouldn't) say this.

Well, you seemed pretty coherent in hum conference, at least.
Also, I'm way more hardcore than I thought, but mostly because I had such a low opinion of my own hardcore-ness. I'm just finishing out my 49th hour without sleep. This is the longest I've ever gone without sleep, hence my low opinion of my hardcore-ness.

I know how that feels!

I used to pull all-nighters about every week, and three or so was my bedtime the other nights. Since I went away to Costa Rica and pretty much had to do the healthy sleep thing I haven't been able to even stay up til three without feeling dead (In CR the sun went down at six and there's not a whole lot to do in the middle of the jungle at night, sometimes with no power, plus we got up at 6 with the sunrise).

This is what we call: time for a nap.

Seconded. It's a very pretty turn of phrase.
