We're all home from the hospital now, including Baby R. She's doing just wonderfully, happy and cheerful, except when she's hungry, tired, gassy, etc. In short, a well functioning baby. Both mother and baby R are napping now

Recovery is underway. R awoke around 6:30 and did some scoping out of her situation. Then she did the "I'm hungry cry". Mom was encouraged to climb into the hospital bed with baby and breast feed her, which she did. Baby nursed successfully and I went home

Nurse just came by with a half-time update. Everything's going OK.
Turns out the doctor does not need to tailor the ureter. This means a simpler surgery, shorter surgery, and (I think) shorter recovery time. Next update anticipated 4PM (should be out of surgery by then).
So today is baby R's scheduled surgery date at Children's hospital. Was supposed to be starting at 11A, but we got a call this morning saying the surgeon had an emergency case to deal with, so we're pushed back to 12:30. Given that surgeons start their day at 6:30 or earlier, I'm not entirely thrilled about being this late in the schedule, but what
