Some thoughts on "Victory of the Daleks"

Watched it yesterday after putting it off thanks to Big Crazy Paper That Has Now Been Turned In.  I don't have class until 3:30 today and I should be working on con law reading, but instead I've been catching up on all the Doctor Who posts on LJ. It makes being a DW fan so much more fun :D

Anyway, so far I really like series 5. I think I'm falling ( Read more... )

I didn't really like VotD as much as the previous two eps, it all felt very rushed and I totally do not like the new Daleks, they're like Playmobil or Lego monsters or something. Well, I guess I'll have to get used to them. The most interesting thing about the episode was Amy not remembering the Daleks, wonder what that means!

Reading Doctor Who posts on Livejournal is fun, but almost a full-time job these days with the new series!

So how far are you on Foyle's War? I've finished series 2 this weekend and now downloading series 3. Yay!

Yeah, the whole planes in space thing totally ruined VotD for me. I didn't mind the new daleks, but I liked the army ones. Those were kind of cool. And yes, I can't wait to find out what's up with Amy not remembering the Daleks!

LOL so true on the reading DW posts being a full-time job these days! Monday mornings are spent on that for me.

I just got series 3 of Foyle's War! Hopefully I'll get to watch a bit tonight. I dunno about you but my heart melted for Sam and Andrew. I love them.

I also loooove Sam and Andrew. Andrew/Julian Ovenden is just so pretty. Although I still kinda prefer the character of Milner to Andrew: I always go for the silent, intelligent type and Anthony Howell is not that bad-looking either!

Haha! I adore Milner. Anthony Howell stole my heart after I watched "Wives and Daughters."

I find Milner to be more of a sort of big brother type of person for Sam. They look out for each other and are really close, but it would never get to the level of a romance. At least, I hope!

And yes, Julian Ovenden is so incredibly pretty! I can't wait to see a little more of him and Sam in Series 3. Oh the pretty :)

My theory about the crack and Amy's apparent "amnesia" molysaccharine April 23 2010, 06:07:47 UTC
I have a theory (well, it's not mine...it's my roommate's, but I'm stealing it and claiming it as my own) that the Doctor fell through the crack while his TARDIS was crash landing, and consequently, he isn't in the same dimension that he believes to be in. Maybe he'll be stuck in this dimension too. This way, there's no going back to old companions like Rose, Martha, and Donna. This way, perhaps The Master is still alive? This way, Moffat has more freedom to truly redo Doctor Who his own way.

*Shrug* Just a theory...

That's a pretty interesting theory...and kind of makes sense. I've heard a lot that this is a different dimension, a parallel world, etc. (some people said Rory's badge said issued in 1990 but then he had a camera phone).

So that would be pretty cool, I guess. Cannot wait for the Angels episode!
