I think my favorite part of this job so far is the baby mice. It's incredible to pick up a cage and see a newborn litter squirming in a makeshift nest arranged by the mother. And then to watch them over the next few weeks as they grow furry and glossy and round? So good ( Read more... )

But then they get tormented and die... :(

They are so weird looking when they're born... kind of cute though.

I'm trying not to get jaded too early on in the job, here. I'll take my little joys when I can, thanks all the same.

I love when they hit the round stage. Ages 3-10 weeks. :)

I'm not much one for mice, or modern medicine for that matter, at least as a participatory, but I felt very much the same about the poultry at work. It's so cool to see them go from fuzzy blobs to the end animal. Enjoy it.
