Doctor Who - The Rebel Flesh

Hmmm. I rather liked that. It had quite a nice Old Who feel to it, with the atmospheric castle locations and lots of people running along corridors. It felt a bit more like "proper" science fiction than the stories we've had so far this series. The tone felt quite different from last week, almost as if this was an entirely different show. more importantly - does perhaps have a flawed ability to regenerate (the same way the other gangers can't hold their shape) and will it end up as a little girl?

I found Rory's relationship with the girl somewhat forced until I realised that he remembers being in the exact same situation (the last centurion) and I wonder what the Flesh becomes... I suspect its something we've encountered before.

Hmm. No, I suspect the explanation for the little girl is going to be something a bit more fiendish. But with Moffat, who knows?

I had no idea what was going on at first but then it settled and it was better but still a bit confusing as things went on. There was no obvious reason for things, really, until the Doctor's clone appeared and then alarm bells started ringing, i.e. it could have been the clone who got shot in the first episode, or was it the real Doctor?

I did wonder if the Ganger/Doctor might be the solution to the Doctor being shot at the start of the series. That would seem like a bit of a cop-out to me, but I suppose we'll find out in time.

It would make a lot of sense for the Doctor that was killed to be the Ganger Doctor. Aside from the deus ex machina aspect, it would also explain why the Doctor didn't remember things that, according to River, he should have. Maybe a lot of those diary entries would should be listed with an asterisk.

Yes, it would explain a few things. We'll have to keep an eye out next week and see if there's a switch!
