I've just come across this wonderful archive of old newspaper and magazine ads and articles, and it's full of great stuff.

The following piece of advice from 1891 had me chuckling, and would look great on a t-shirt (particularly if worn by a long-haired gentleman):

It is conceded that artists and musicians may wear their hair long if they choose

It does seem a bit unlikely that having beetroot juice sprayed up your nose would have a calming effect.

Are you mad??? What could be sexier than the guy with the glasses and the polo neck??? LOL

Ah, the 70s, such a wacktastic time for fashion! I will admit that mullet-man loses because there really is no one that can truly sell the "business in front, party in back" vibe well enough.

As a long haired gentleman, I am pleased to learn that my artistic nature allows me to be such without offending the sensibilities of the public.

My artistic nature entitles me to wear long hair too, but I choose not to! I feel that I'm letting the side down.
