After I got off work, we spent the day in Salem. Had a nice lunch, walked around the Oregon Garden (beautiful fall colors, will post the pics soon), generally had a nice peaceful day out. Not a big blowout, but who can afford that now?

I suppose I should update again. Didn't get the job, unfortunately. Then again, you have to be able to upsell, and selling is not my strong point. I'm still at the fabric store for now, though I'm not getting the hours I was hoping to get (neither is anyone else, and the busy season is starting). So I'm looking for a better job. Hubby is doing well with the job, he's still in training but everything's going very well so far. He's happy, he's doing something he's good at, and he doesn't come home with pizza sauce covering his clothes anymore ( Read more... )

Hubby got the job! He'll be doing car rentals, incoming phone calls. He starts next month. Frankly, I'm glad, I think the pizza place was wearing him down. He can do much better jobs -- and has -- but this recession is forcing people to find whatever jobs they can, regardless of education and training ( Read more... )

I just realized I haven't posted since April. We've settled into the new place, so far, everything's pretty good. The apartments have a nice heated pool and well-stocked workout room, and I've been trying to get into some semblance of shape. Tomorrow is the day we move to the slightly bigger apartment. We've got just about everything boxed up and ready to go.
