I'm not sure this is even interesting to you all since no one responded to my earlier call for help on this issue, but my graphic designer and I came up with an idea for the book cover that I thought I would share. Sounds like a good image but why do illustration when you have the photographs? I think the visual impact would be much stronger if it literally looked like the person was holding the burning manuscript [and a full color photograph can be done in 4 color pantone]. Just cut the burning paper slap it on a non-burning manuscript in a model's hand and photoshop in the title.
Although who reads speeches from a manuscript? You don't want to conflate your book with the subject. What about note cards or even better a (broken or possibly still burning) teleprompter? Just my 2 cents.

I'll pass the idea onto him. He does some really good work. He's the graphic design professor at the university.
