I swear your livejournal hates me, every time I try and comment it tells me your post doesn't exist.I wrote half a bloody essay too.I can't be arse typing it all again(maybe tomorrow) but the short version is let them ban the flag, it's a cheap excuse to be a cunt.

anyway, they weren't even planning to be banning the flagging in the first place, it was just the media going nuts with sensationalism and oppurtunistic jingoism, which in turn let our pollies to go nuts with it too. god bless journalism.

The second one, and I knew it was an exaggeration. I see little difference between the media jingoism and the racist behaivour of the rioters themselves.

also, not really following up on anything, but i loved that i think Morris Iemma also called the Cronulla Riots the "ugly side of racism." it's hilarious. i mean, fuck, can someone show me the "beautiful" side of racism? the cute side of aparthied? the jolly side of occupation?

also I think all those tossers should be allowed to wear their australian flag capes. They make them easier for the rest of us to avoid and ignore, like if they were wearing pointy white masks or had leprosy.

also, peoples, answer your messages. this american bloke Andrew bird is performing tomorrow night in northcote. It'll be several shades of awesome.

also, I'm thinking we should go to the nova to see pan's labyrinth one of these days. I imagine it should be something like that film with david bowie except probably with less baby juggling.

Yeah dude, I love it when politicians just have a knee-jerk reaction to something without CHECKING THE FACTS FIRST. Goddamnit. The Herald Sun did some amazing right-wing coverage of this issue.
