I'm just going to say this one thing about the earthquake and then I will shut my face.

Please take a look over your bed and ask yourself if you would be injured if that mirror or painting or whatever it is fell on your head in the night.

This PSA has been brought to you by the good people of California.

Love this. Us east coasters need some tips in this department!

My friend in DC posted a picture of a plant that fell directly into a toilet, and left a mess of soil, greenery, and fertilizer all over the place. Note to self: do not place plants on shelves directly over toilets.

Seriously. We have a quilt hanging on the wall over Madeleine's bed, and a lightweight framed picture (plastic instead of glass) over ours

I have seen people put bookshelves over their beds and yesterday I saw a picture of one of those sunburst mirrors over a bed. Because broken glass is not enough. You also want to be stabbed in the head with pointy metal spikes.

We're so well trained over here in California. I was worried about those back east because of the lack of quakes. October is Earthquake 'season' so be on your awares.

Never would have crossed my mind to think of that...see how naive we are about those things in the East? We have a very small picture (faux oil of a Madonna and Child) in a lightweight frame over our bed - no glass. I think if it ever fell off, the most you would get out of us would be a WTF for being woken up when it bonked us in the middle of the night.
