This is a letter I wrote and posted to Bones the week before "The Bones on a Blue Line", after I was really fed up with the LONG hiatus that we all went through. Just think of it as a fan ranting :)
Hey Jane, I didn't know you feel like that about the show. That's pretty interesting (and a little sad) and I got your point. I was just wondering if, with the last episodes, your feeling evolved or not. I mean, the 100th was kind of an earthquake for the show. So, how are you feeling now ? Thanks. :)

Hi Jane,
I absolutely agree with everything you have written. I feel exactly the same. Season 5 has the same B&B moments like all previous 4 seasons, nothing new. Though episode 100 was mindblowing. I loved how they showed that B&B have already acted on their sexual desires and the last scene almost had me in tears.
But what the hell happened in the 102 episode? (The predator in the pool) I hated the fact that Brennan was happily going out with Booth's boss (Isn't that mean seeing Booth loves her). Though I like his character, but it seemed forced like they desperately wanted both of them to move on. And Booth and that scientist lady, Ughh!!!! When will they finally get togther?! Sigh.

Hey!
Thanks for your comment! Wow! I didn't even know people keep an eye on my LJ anymore! ;)
Yeah, it's tough being fans of Bones at the moment, and it seems we'll still be having it tough until at least the end of this season.
I really don't understand how they can both happily go out with others so soon after their big show-down. I mean, c'mon, Booth doesn't give up that easily! But that's the way they're playing it, nothing we can do except to go along and see what they've got up their sleeves :)

I think many people have said this, but let me just say, when Brennan said "I can't change", I expected Booth to reply with "I'll help you". It's very unlike him to give up so easily and quickly.
Hi Jane, I had no idea that you were feeling this way, I thought I was the only one. I agree with everything you wrote, I too have been very disappointed to this season and that's sad. I haven't been feeling the excitement every wednesday night for the new Bones epi or even reading the spoilers. I mean last week episode was like meh... anyway but I really hope it'll change and no, I'm not giving up on this show... ever.
I'm not giving up on this show either, no way I'll give it up! But this being the FIRST show I've ever shipped...well, I really don't want my enthusiasm for the show to cool down. Remember when we hung on to every single word that came out about Bones during the summer hiatus? I really want that excitement back. Unfortunately, so far, they haven't given us much to be excited about.
I am going to have to agree with you. I feel that this almost whole year has been a big disappointment fest. I think the only really good one that stood out and maybe even the slightest put their characters closer together, is the 100th episode, and the finale. I mean sure they are running from each other and going to the opposite sides of the earth but it still brought them closer. I had remembered all the hype. I also remember Hart Hanson saying that an episode we will run out in the street in our underwear. Uhh I would like to say that so didn't happen with me. None of the episodes were really up to the standard if you wish to call it that. I just feel really cheated this year. I mean season 1-4 was kind of my "Oh me God" but this year was slide more into an "Oh" and "well" I just don't feel that they have served us right as being loyal fans

This is one very long reply! - Thanks for reading my long letter and replying! I agree that the "one step forward and five steps back" attitude really frustrates me, and I really thought this was the season that all was going to change. Well, the relationship changed, but I just don't like the pace of it - it's too slow and dragged out.
And yes, as much as I love Angela and Hodgins, and Daisy and Sweets, I don't see why their relationships should progress much faster than Booth and Brennan's. I mean, that's just going about it backwards. Why the focus on getting the smaller characters together while keeping the main characters apart? That really puzzles and frustrates me.
