A Lamination for Walter Miller
I learned that Walter Miller who wrote “Canticle for Leibowitz” turned against the church that he so lovingly explores in his book. It is really a blow for me. I enjoyed the book so much the originality, the historical scope, the balance of the book is breathtaking but more than that there are moments in the book that are like viewing a Pietà ( Read more... ) -

On the advice of my friend Wes, I am reading A Canticle for Leibowitz. Wow. It is enjoyable and subtle and feel that in many ways it is the novel I would write if I had the skill. I am heading out to TN for the Thanksgiving weekend to look at the land that my parents bought. I will take pictures of the mountains while I there. There is I understand a babbling brook and a mountainside.
I also am now offical fulltime with TCG and if I can go 90 without getting fired I will have benifets and everything.

Land of Confusion
I just saw the video for Disturbed's remake of Land of Confusion. I hate it with an unholy passion. It is gross, the song was very positive but the video is very political and is demonizing the Western world and has a violent (and not remotely subtle) Communist agenda. Well I went to the CLO Alumni meeting this morning. I really was glad I went, CLO is doing as well as can be expected but things are getting very cleaned up it all looks really nice. After an extensive survey I have concluded that most only 10% of the general American population will admit to wanting to rule the world but that most fast food workers claim this ambition.
