I currently live in the shadow of an ancient volcano that created the island I'm on, Moorea. My house is about 10 feet from a tropical lagoon, a three-minute boat ride away from an incredible reef. I saw way more fish in our snorkel today that I have seen in my entire diving career in New England. I wish I could share pictures with you. ( Read more... ) -
Good bye!
I'm off to Moorea in French Polynesia, New Zealand, and California. I'll be back in the New England area at the end of May, though I'm not sure if I'll be in Rhode Island or Boston. I'm gonna start a blog and post pictures. I'll update from Moorea to let you know how it's going. I miss you all!

I thought the idea of having an anonymous peer review was that the author remains anonymous. I'm so sorry my scientific writing is oh so inferior to your own that you have to rub it in. Just edit it and give it back, I don't need your mighty objective personal opinion. *snort*

Marsh plants, phones, and Presidents! Oh my!
Well, only about three hours after voting in my first presidential election, I seriously regreted the decision I made. Not in terms of presidential candidates or even senators for Rhode Island. I was seriously regreting voting yes on Question 1 for RI. I agreed RI should spend about $80 million on our roads and transportation services.

Well, it has been 10 days since I moved into the house on Pleasant Street in Nahant, MA. The past 10 days have been some of the most tiring and amazing days of my life.
