The mark of the modern world?

It is widely accepted that modern written English is suffering from a lack of punctuation. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not great at this stuff. Like most people, I hesitate before I use a semicolon. I believe the ellipsis is most appropriate, since in the complete statement, the presence of bells are falsely suggested.

I agree with Explodi - no mark needed.

The joy of cynisism is that the audience is not quite sure if you're being serious or cynical.

Americans can be quite cynical, I assure you. We're also capable of picking up on the cynicism of others. Why, my husband was very cynical just the other day when I told him I was going to get caught up on laundry. O_o And Friday before last, when I told him I was going to finish up my character sheet for the Call of Cthulhu campaign we've just started playing...
