Nice. Job certainty is a very appealing carrot. Follow the scent of incentive, grasshopper!

Hmm. Hopefully you'll be OK. I guess she's tough for the right reasons? But in the wrong ways? Or in the right ways for the wrong reasons? Something like that.

We welcome bitching and venting in Livejournal land, so feel free to let us in on your life.

How is your life, anyway? How's grad school, outside of the crazy bitch?

Good luck!

I'm doing well. Grad school is a lot like undergrad, except fewer, more focused classes, and tons of time in the lab when you want to hang out. I get to teach biology undergrads, most of whom think they're going to med school despite getting 46/100 on tests.

My advisor is well known as one of the top in her field, and she's got about 175 publications. She's demanding, and has no social skills when it comes to students. But I'm told she thinks she's supportive, even if it is in her own special way. She hardly ever helps us, just tells us what to do, but I suppose that leads to success later. Hopefully?
