A late present is better than no present. ...Even when said present is slightly silly.

[Three guesses as to who lost their Card Key to the Rocket base.

Nobody wants to be that guy; everybody in Team Rocket knows the one - that one grunt (or admin, assuming Clarissa can't find the damn thing) who drops the key and lets a behatted child stroll straight into HQ. You can be the worst grunt (...or admin) in your squad, but being the one ( Read more... )

[oh look it's Silver. He's just walking about on his own as he tends to, Sneasel on his shoulder. Both trainer and Pokemon snerk quietly at the scene before them.]

[What was that, Silver? We can't hear you over the sound of how awesome we're being.

Clarissa and Magmar are both too obsessed with duelling it out to notice Silver's presence. It stays unacknowledged for several rounds of punches, before Magmar finally looks in Silver's direction. The sudden distraction of her fighting partner prompts Clarissa to turn around; at the sight of Silver, her mouth quirks into the smirkiest of smiles, and she raises a hand in greeting.]

Hey, brat!

[Clarissa gives a curt nod, still smirking.]

I s'pose. We're training.

[Pete's out and slouching about, his only concession to the chill weather being a baggy sweater and scarf that Archer fussed him into wearing. His gaggle of Koffing is trailing after him; a few are spinning, a few more are upside down... and his yippy little Zorua is having a grand old time batting one ahead of the rest of the group. The Koffing doesn't seem to mind.

He stops in his wandering when he spots the odd sight of... Clarissa sparring with a Magmar. Huh! That's definitely something he can spare a moment to watch and possibly laugh at. He absently holds a hand up to steady a spinning Koffing floating beside him.]

[The new company goes unnoticed by all but Clefairy, who is sitting on a nearby tree-stump, her attention now diverted from her fighting mistress and ally, to Pete and his derpy pokemon-following. She just scowls at the group, watching Zorua's antics with the Koffing.

Clarissa and Magmar just keep fighting. Clarissa gets Magmar off-balance with a hit, before sweeping a foot at the pokemon's legs and knocking him over. The admin punches the air in triumph, pleased regardless of Magmar's holding-back, before extending a hand to her pokemon.]

[...Oh. Huh. It's that one Rocket training with her Magmar. Damnit why does she have to be a rocket that's a trade evolution he'd be all over that shit. She must really be used to getting burned. What's with the helmet and knee and elbow pads?

Weavile and Silver are content to. Well. popcorn.gif! Except without the popcorn, because there's no popcorn around.]

[Too bad Clarissa is too stubborn to evolve any of her pokemon further. ...Also the Rocket thing. Surprisingly not, seeing as stealing logic from the anime Magmar's fire doesn't burn unless at pokemon's will, although a couple of slight burns as well as singes to clothes are inevitable. Clarissa's used to much worse, even though they still hurt, of course.

Neither trainer nor pokemon realise anyone else has joined them for a number of turns, fists and feet flying. Eventually Clarissa notices, signalling for Magmar to stop for one damn second, and glaring in Silver's direction.]

What the hell do you want?

[It's not the sparring that strikes Proton as odd - it's a decent idea, really, though Proton does prefer human opponents; instead, his gaze remains on the gear Clarissa's currently wearing. It's entirely more amusing than it's worth; he's not quite breaking out the popcorn, but it's enough to get him to stop being comatose like the rest of the mun's characters have been for months now and watch, one hand resting idly at his belt, the other toying with his collar.

That smile is still nowhere near anything that can be called genuine, though the usual sense of distance isn't nearly as strong in his eyes - clearly, no one's immediately about to die today!]

I'd been wondering when you were going to invest in something like that, as bandaged-up as you always are.

Wha- [There's an indignant shriek as Magmar uses Proton's moment of interruption to catch the distracted Clarissa off guard, taking out her legs with a heavy swish of a tail and knocking her clean over. From her new position face-upward in the grass, Clarissa groans, glaring up at her pokemon.]

Cheater! That's not fair, dammit!

[Magmar rolls his eyes and crosses his arms in front of his chest. Fair? He just happens to have a tail to his disposal, of course it's fair. Just because Mistress doesn't have one.

Not bothering to move, Clarissa turns her head and focuses her sour expression on Proton instead. Long time no see, sadist.]

I didn't invest in it. It turned up in my house!

[...Just don't let Clarissa catch on to that just yet or she really might destroy something. That's the last time she'll ever leave anything important in her pockets, anyhow.

It's an energetic display to say the least. Clarissa is going full-out, while Magmar is holding back so his strength is just a little above hers - shattering every bone in his trainer's body would not be at all useful to their training, though he's blocking and dodging Clarissa's attacks more frequently than he is hitting back. Both are completely absorbed in the fight, it might take an interjection from Archer to divert their attention.]
