Lap band. In talking to my surgeon, there are far fewer complications and the same results after 5 years. The difference is that the initial loss is slower. I can deal with that, I'm in it for the long haul!

Ah, yeah that definitely sounds like one of the MUCH safer ones. I've heard that you need to adjust your diet/lifestyle for those to work? Like that you can't graze, but rather have to eat regular meals?

That is recommended. The key is to eat healty, take small bites, and chew it up really well. Then, make sure you are hydrated, evidently it is easy to get dehydrated, and it is recommended to continually have some water with you! I will keep everyone posted! I lost over 30 pounds since november, by cutting out all junk food, fast food, and fried food.

Remember, it's not just the pre-op instructions you have to follow. Pay close attention to what you're supposed to do afterwards!

Good luck!

Thanks! A good friend did the surgery in august, and she has given me great advice, and I do plan to follow the doctors advice very strictly.

Thanks! I did ask about my ability to tolerate spicy food after the surgery, and it should be ok, so I PROMISE to get to Texas so we can have margaritas and enchiladas at Chuys!
