The holiday has destroyed (exaggeration) all of my male friends. Female aqauntainces don't care. I adore these guys and seeing them suck and heave to the gals they fancy whom are out of reach makes me wonder what I'd look like if I were projectile vomiting and what food that would look best with (chili dog and sherbet). They're good, very smart ( Read more... )

A lot of guys genuinely don't understand women, or how to handle those kind of feelings towards a woman. So rather then just acting all natural and being relaxed (this whole thing about being yourself is bullshit, I tell people just to relax) they do and say stupid things under the impression they're being cool, only for it to dawn on them later when they're alone just how stupid they were.
I made some horrible mistakes in my youth, mostly due to nerves. Just relaxing and not trying too hard (it seems desperate, god that was a horrible lesson learned) worked for me on Valentines day.

Until I smoke and drank too much and had to puke.

Some of these guys are weeeell into their 20's (some nearly 30) and successful and confident in nearly every situation I see them in, which is the main thing confusing me. I always thought that literary/movie/etc. cliche of a man giving up themselves for a woman was bullshit, but I guess a lot of you just put up a good front even when you're completely insecure (hey, like women!). Until you actually care about someone, I guess.

PS: thanks for the tips on pickin' up chicks!

Like you would ever need tips.

Some men are just pathetic around women, and that never seems to change. I think a lot of men instantly think about sex as soon as they set eyes on a woman (I'm not sure, it's just my general impression of other men). I'm happy to just make friends and get on with more or less everyone I meet (if they let me).
Ok, so I'm single, but still...

I've known men who didn't get their first girlfriends till their early twenties. It's not as uncommon as a lot of people would think.
