Us Shaptowicz's are fans of Chuck Klosterman too! It helps that you can always get his books super-cheap in NYC because used bookstores are overflowing with his "review" copies.
We agree about the hit and miss, and I kind of think of him as a non-fiction Douglas Copeland for the aughts! More fun than he should be!
And if you haven't yet, you should check out Steve Almond's "Candy Freak." It's like "Killing Yourself to Live" except replace "places rock stars have died" with "places awesome candy is made."
"Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs: A Low Culture Manifesto"? It was given to me a few months ago and I haven't read it yet. Trying to figure out where to put it in my pile of 'to reads'.
