Why don't I play video games?

For me it is because they are too addictive, mostly. I even had to erase hearts from my computer. But also, the FPShooters/WoW/Everquest types tended to give me a headache. I would probably be better off with pacman like views, but again, the addiction problem. :)

I don't really play video games either. They fall in this niche I'm not interested in. I can see how people play them just for fun, but they're not fun enough to me to overcome their pointlessness. If I'm not going to do something real, with real accomplishments and/or real interactions, I'd rather read a book.

So would you also apply this things like reading fiction, watching movies or scripted TV shows?

No I would not. Those are not things that you personally can interact with, level up, do quests, etc.

Everyone needs an escape. Books, movies, tv, etc. Maybe video games are that escape for these people. I am not saying I am right or wrong, I was just thinking about what someone said to me and trying to figure out why I don't like to play video games for more than maybe 15 minutes.

i play lots of video game in fact I'm going to school to make them and i don't see them any different then playing AD&D or the like. which i know you do play. im not saying start playing them just fail to see the difference. you are a fantastic person polyranger and i strive to be more like you are with people becuz i have that much respect for you.:) i play video games as my escape as you said. and they are not for everyone,
