It's become very real to me that I am moving, and I am moving SOON. A week from tomorrow, I'm packing up my life for at least the third time this past year and moving back to the last place I felt grounded. I'm worrying about a lot right now. A lot of groundlessness going on -- some of it self-induced, but some that I couldn't have foreseen. Acupuncture is helping with the anxiety and getting to sleep, but there's a lot to worry about. Phew.

I just realized that I "live" many places that I don't live. This spurred by wanting a library card. My billing address is a house I no longer live at. My permanent mailing address is my mom's house. The DMV still thinks I live in Santa Cruz. My Southwest Rapid Rewards drink coupons go to my old Irvine house (and my Swiffer is still there, damn). I ( Read more... )

I ran 2.25 miles yesterday! It was up there with one of the most pleasant runs I've ever had, too -- about 6:30 at night as the sun was finishing setting along the Huntington Beach path to the pier. I told myself on my birthday last year that I'd run a 10K by my birthday this year. I've started training for this (and Jesse has been training with me) -- an interval training (couch to 10K) program. It's going really well! I'm up to week four now (so I can run two miles without stopping), and next week I stop intervals and just start increasing ( Read more... )

I love you and your "Swedish" ingenuity, but please be a little more consistent in your product quality. I spent about forty-five minutes wrestling with one corner of my bed frame tonight during assembly because the holes were poorly placed. Gr.
