weird food combinations

Right now i'm eating curry rice, with a hot dog chopped up in it. :( I'm moving soon and I refuse to go grocery shopping until I eat all the food I have, so nothing goes to waste.

I was just wondering what strange food combinations you guys have eaten when you were low on money and only eating things that were already in your pantry!

once my gf and I were down to a can of peaches, a can of spaghetti sauce, a box of hard taco shells, a brick of ramen, a can of salmon and one packet of chocolate oatmeal to last us through a whole weekend.

We cooked the salmon in the spagetti sauce and ate it over noodles, toasted the taco shells and sprinkled them with ramen seasoning. Cut the peaches up into little pieces and ate it for dessert.

Those were sad times.

Napa (I think -- it's the kind that's kind of long and curly) cabbage, cut across the grain into strips, sauteed/sweated in butter or whatever, with Italian bread crumbs tossed in for some extra flavor and a little starch.

The first time, it was a desperation "what do I have in my kitchen that even MIGHT go together" dinner, but since then, it's joined my regular rotation.
