I'm sorry, that's a really shitty situation. Puts my "problems" in perspective.

Have you considered asking your boss about a pay advance? That's kinda what they're for.

Perspective sucks. It doesn't make you feel better about your problems; it just makes you feel bad about feeling bad for them.

Yeah, perspective is lame...I bitch and bitch, and then I feel bad because I bitch to James, and he's got way more problems than I do.

And I can't get a pay advance at work, unfortunately. The checks/payroll are done at the corporate office. :(
