"Now that ain’t fair! I need a drink just like y'all do. I've been working as hard as anyone else," Jack said, crossing his arms like a petulant child. .........."Well, you ain’t stealing mine, Jack Twist." Ennis locked eyes with Jack, and was rewarded with a smile as wide as the ocean.

Wonderful Chapter with the slowly building intimacy between them. The hair touch was beautiful and Ennis caring enough to stop and buy Jack his beer was so sweet. Just like Canon Ennis, always wanting to do small things (kill an elk, ask for soup, tend the sheep) to please Jack. Hmmm, seems like Meli maybe knows where Ennis's true interest lies?

Hello bbmjack324, thanks for your lovely comment, I'm so glad you liked it, and that the growing intimacy is working for you. Ennis buying Jack those beers just happened without me even thinking about it! He can't seem to help himself when it comes to Jack. As for Meli....umm, she's very intuitive! Thanks for reading.

Wonderful story going on here. I'm feelin'-and lovin' the sweetness of how you are developing their attraction. Ennis' being confounded by his feelings without Jack taking the lead is refreshing. Quintessential Ennis stopping to get beer for Jack-trying to please him. This is making me wiggle with pleasure

I've read all 4 chapters today/tonight and I really like this story. The OC's are interesting and I love the friendship Jack & Ennis developed right off the bat. Very nice!!! The setting is very relaxing.....but the kids haven't yet arrived. I like your writing very much and am glad I started reading!

Hello denimgirl!! Thank you so much for your comment, am glad you like the story so far and that the OC's are interesting...some of them are made up, but others are not. Are you happy or sad that the kids havent arrived yet? lol They will be arriving the next but one chapter. I did originally plan to have them arrive in chapter 3!!! But other things got in the way. *wink* Thanks for reading.

Hey there C: Sorry I'm late with the comments but it's kind of nice as well because I get to see what everyone else has written. I bet you're really happy with the responses. I'm glad you used the tumbleweed, it fits into that paragraph perfectly.

You know, I do worry about our young Ennis. I mean, how's he going to get his work done with such a wonderful view of the lakefront? What if the knife slips and he cuts something really vital to Jack's future happiness? That would not be good. So I think maybe Ennis should take up photography instead and go around and take pictures of the, err, waterfront all day.

Oh yes, I love Dirty Dancing. I have a feeling Meli does, too. So how about we get a little bumping and grinding going on in the next chapter to the tune of "Do You Love Me?". S'okay? Great chapter, toots. xx Em

Thanks Em as always for such a lovely comment. I adore the word tumbleweed, but I have no idea why! lol I like the idea of Ennis taking up photography, but he has his hands full with all the extra-curricular activities he's doing. *wink* As for Dirty Dancing..well, you know I'm a DD girl, and so you have got me thinking. Watch this space.
