Oh Christie, this just gets better. It really does. I was totally lost in this chapter! There so many pieces I would like to quote...and I think I just may...So I'm sorry, but this is going to be long....it's your own fault though....you shouldn't get me so involved in your story!!!The building sexual tension...the canon links...I totally LOVED that they watch each other...just like Jack and Ennis on that mountain....Jack seeing Ennis as night fire...Aww...and I agree with Ennis ( ... )

Wow Rosie, I'm overwhelmed by your comment! Thank you for every word, I am so glad you liked it and it worked for you. I am very conscious that, as a reader, I am always dying to know everything right now, so now that I am on the other side of the fence, I have to try and reign in that desire. I want you to know enough of what Ennis and Jack are thinking, but not too much. I'm cruel, aren't I? lol The double-date was a disaster but like you said it was a necessary one. And things will move on in the next chapter....I will stop talking now! lol Thanks so much Rosie.

Hi C! I really enjoyed this chapter (and it was LONG! good for you!). I love all the canon elements you put in here--the time doing chores around camp, the stories about their pasts, the whiskey they drink together in the dark. Very satisfying. The hair brushes on both sides were very sweet--I think we can see they're both ready for a little something more, once they figure out what that is. Thanks for a wonderful update. :)

I have commented before how much I love camp stories, but even more so with a young Jack and Ennis. Both feeling the green monster not really knowing why.
I am glad Jack went looking for Ennis, he seamed so alone and lost.Thank you for the visual ,it is extra special to put a face to a story.
Looking forward to more.

I'm intrigued about the love spoon and ennis's explanation to Jack, I loved that little touch and am impressed that you were right about this old Welsh custom. I wonder how that relates to Ennis and where the Welsh link is? being Welsh myself (Hence the user name).
Love the way you're slowly building the relationship between J and E there definitely an attraction there. Which both boys seem to find confusing.

Really nice story looking forward to more. L

Hello landofthedragon. Thanks for your comment, I have to say there is no specific Welsh link for Ennis with the love spoons....but the love spoon itself is significant if that makes sense! I am glad you liked that touch, I know about love spoons and have one myself, and as Ennis likes wood...well, my mind went wandering! Thanks for reading and I am glad you are enjoying the story.
