What a lovely birthday afternoon, but I'm not sure that Jack will up to much later on after an afternoon riding! I remember what it was like after 1 hours riding - never mind several! But I'm sure they'll manage.

Hi Suzysue, thanks for your comment, so glad you liked the chapter, please forgive me as I know nothing of horse riding, so I just made it all up! Jack will somehow find some energy from somewhere - well he has to!! Part 2 to follow soon.

Love the entire chapter! But I feel a little sad now that Ennis isn't confident enough that Jack will like what he's going to give him. And this;
He hoped that what he had planned would give Jack a birthday he would always remember, long after the other memories of this summer faded away.
I don't feel good about this... Ennis always thinks the worst, doesn't he? *sighs*
I really can't wait for the second part of this chapter :) I know Jack will love everything Ennis would give him.

Hi fb, thank you so much for your comment.....and you know Ennis well. He's always going to feel whatever he does is inadequate, he's not used to this overwhelming feeling he has for Jack, so he can't stop himself. And you are right, Jack will love everything Ennis gives him, he's happy enough just with Ennis himself.

What a wonderful birthday for Jack, getting his own special riding lesson and an afternoon alone with Ennis out in the nature where they can just be and enjoy the love they found so unexpectedly in this summercamp. I hope Part 2 is coming soon, I can´t wait to see what else Ennis has planned to make this day unforgettable.
