I am so happy that everything has turned out all right for Jack and Ennis. I was really worried that Ennis would actually leave Jack behind and try to forget him. Thank goodness that's all past.
I love this story! I can't wait for more! : )

Hi Debra, thanks for your comment. I would never have let Ennis leave, he couldn't go without Jack, no way. Thanks for reading, I'm so glad you liked it.

Hi Lindsey, thanks for your gorgeous comment, I was a bit overhwelmed...so glad you liked the chapter, it was a big relief after the last couple of really angsty ones, I know there was some worrying times here but I knew there'd be a happy ending, so it was easy for me ;) I'm pleased you liked the love spoon exchange and feel very happy you thought it was romantic, I just felt this was the time Ennis had to show Jack how he felt. Thanks for reading.

It's been a long wait, but well worth it. You give us so much in this chapter. One of the things I loved the most was how faithfully and intimately you followed the course of Jack's heart and mind through this part of the story; we are invited to see into his experiences with love, rejection and romance. You show us all the fear, despair and exhilaration he feels over the course of this dramatic turn in events. At various points, we get to feel weak-kneed, joyous, resigned and wary alongside him.... he's such a sympathizable character because we see how directly and honestly connected his emotions are to his being. How we long for him to find someone who will take good care of those feelings and gather him into a tight embrace when he wants to slip to the ground ( ... )

rt_in_town, thank you so much for such a long, lovely and detailed comment! I'm a little overwhelmed, but extremely flattered, and you expressed everything I was wanting to get across in this chapter - about Ennis and Jack, both together and separately. So glad it all worked for you :)

You sure are the master of the looong chapters. Love it.
And I also love that Ennis finally came to his senses. But why now? was it the sorrow over losing Jack for real?
great chapter
thanks
Paula

Hi Paula, thanks for you comment. So glad that you liked the long chapter - I cant seem to do short ;) Ennis came to his senses because he realised how badly he'd hurt Jack. And he was just bottling his feelings up, not knowing how to deal with them. So he was planning to leave but not really wanting to go. Hope that makes sense. I'd never have let ennis leave without Jack anyway....
