Hello Christie, what a gorgeous, VERY satisfying chapter in every sense! Thank you so much.

This passage was so heart-breaking, poor Ennis:
Howie’s words were like a blow to his heart and he barely managed to get over the shock of hearing them and the casual mention of Jack’s name
and the fact that by then he still was not over his low self-esteem and mixed-up feelings, made him all the more human, including the fact that he was feeling like a "fraud" for not coming clean to Howie and the sense of guilt for abandoning Justin.

Meli is a wonderful friend, the best possible ally for the boys.

And their sweet "reunion" was written and paced so well, it really feels like a dream come true.

I loved how you parallel both boys' sense of re-descovery of their mutual affection, with Jack saying:
Ain’t no one ever done nothing like this for me, never

and shortly after Ennis saying:
Didn’t know I could be something like that to someone else. Never imagined anyone would feel that way. Not about me.

And while reading this:

I was so upset at first for Howie was so upset (in my opinion) about an assault happening to a child, that he didn't listening to all that Ennis was saying. Thankfully, Meli wasn't going to take "no" for answer from Jack and got the ball rolling. Unfortunately, I've known kids like Ryan and I think it's so sad that they get away with doing things that are destructive and hurtful. The last part of the chapter was just beautiful. So glad that they are together. And I loved the "I got you."

I'm so glad Scott finally told the truth and Ryan is being moved. Yes, this kind of tragedy brought out some good things the fact Ennis realized how important he was to Justin and then the ability to tell Jack his true feelings and to finally rebuild what he almost lost totally was very well done. Joe
