I've been far more shattered this week than I think I have any right to (although I have it on good authority that other's think I have a right to be this tired
( Read more... )
I get very tired in the evenings if I don't eat at the right time - I've now worked it out that I have a snack around 11 (some fruit at the mo) and a substantial lunch around 1/2 then a yoghurt or somat around 3/4 and that means I'm good for the evening - esp if you can have something slow release energy at lunch...
My issue currently is adapting to the new work schedule (which I've only been on since the end of August!!) I start work at 12, meaning I leave home at 11. This gives me time for breakfast, but not a proper lunch. As I only work 5 hours, I don't feel comfortable with taking time off to eat (I DO eat, but things that can easily be put aside should work arise and I'm usually front desk). Lately I've had a mid-work snack about 2-3, usually a treat of something sugary, and I usually have 2 or 3 mugs of lady grey tea. I think this is causing my crash and from next week I'm going to try the continual grazing approach (the "cow" method of nutrition!) where I have something slow-releasing constantly to hand. I have too much to do for my day to end at 5.30!
I can see the 11 start being a real pain! And agree with the not having time off for lunch - what you could do is get a small thermos and take some home made soups (I'm a huge fan of them at the mo - I make R Bloody Mary soup to take in a thermos - it of course is without the vodka) with you...
Good luck tho - I know what it's like to crash at 5.30 - not fun when you have an actual life lol!
I've been wanting to get into making my own soups for a while and I have a thermos... I think you make an excellent point! There's no reason why I can't, I even have proper scales and a hand blender now! Right.... extra plan for the weekend is to pick a soup to make by next weekend!
