I have wondered before if I would recognize Jesus immediately if I saw Him just walking around this "modern" world. That is like asking if I know what my best friend, my boss and my dad look like.
I have also wondered what Heaven will be like and God gave me a glimpse of it last summer after I came home from summer project. It is just as you said, Heaven is like coming home after a long day of wandering or a long summer project.

I think it would be interesting. were He standing there and asked us to come to Him, we (as a society) would walk past Him while we (as believers) would know Him immediately. like Simeon and Anna. they knew Him as an infant but they knew Him. it was instant. a spiritual confirmation.
I think it's important not to have an entirely different picture of who He is. as believers, I think we have a greater responsibility than others, to portray Him truthfully. as He is, was, and will be.
