count me in. sooo many people told me i have to see devil's lake / baraboo. it is, after all, what sparked "a global revolution in structural geology!" let's camp, and shit, in the cold weather. barring that, Laura Z and i have done Kettle Moraine as a good day hike location that's probably closer. if we're really hardcore and awesome, we can go to the UP for some time during the fall, when it is the most gorgeous place south of the Boundary Waters.

the sparkly dirt was mica-rich and may have meant you were near a mine. we went down an entire road that was glistening with it, right before a big quarry.
