I know I hardly ever use this journal anymore (I still have stuff I want to update about, like my last two amazing summers) but right now I just absolutely need to talk about how much I love Matthew Schuler on The Voice. Which is a show I don't even really watch! Or didn't until I saw his performance of Florence + The Machine's "Cosmic Love".

The last time I felt this way about a contestant on a performance show was the first time I really followed one of them at all: that being David Cook on American Idol. Who I still think had the best overall performance in the entirety of his season of any contestant on any televised competition show (by a pretty huge margin in fact) and who I still love this many years later.

.. I actually found out David was in Pittsburgh like the day after I got home from Michigan at the end of October but not until like a couple weeks ago. I was super bummed I missed it.

Haha like I said they're probably my two favourites, I really dig Will's voice. He's one of the most professional performers (which honestly kinda makes him lose a bit of passion and spontaneity I think). But Matthew is just.. something else.

Any of the above! :P It kinda varies based on what's available and where my mind is at, so I like to keep my options open. :P

but yeah I definitely miss IM chats with you, so that's something we'll have to do sometime soon. :)
