I keep telling the Hungarians to replace the cabbage with something like kale, and use marinara instead of plain ol' tomato sauce, and maybe then it'll be something to crow about, but then they start hollering about tradition and then I'm all like but you're Hungarian.
It's just that, I can never be sure where the dirt and twigs have been. :(
I'd never had cabbage rolls until I met Zach's family... and I wouldn't put them so low on the all things vile list.... but I am sure the taste of said rolls differs per family and traditions.
I am greatly amused that poop and other humans are infact above anything that's actually still alive. A grasshopper couldn't be that bad could it?
I know that in Asian cultures they do that stuff all the time, insects, stuff that's still alive...cabbage rolls...but I just couldn't unless it came down to a matter of survival. Still, I hope things never come to that. :(

on the other hand, Clods of Dirt with a side of twigs provides excellent roughage and can be quite refreshing!
