As this has been the subject of much pasty + lager debate on Saturday evening, what is everyone's take on kisses (xxx) in text messages? Do people pay attention to it? The general consensus was that us, as men, read far too much into them, and that it just typifies our desperation to find any sign whatsoever that a girl likes us ( Read more... )

I disagree with "xxx". That is the standard amount of kisses to send therefore it cannot be read as going out/on the verge of. I usually send two or three kisses in texts to friends. Perhaps I should review my textual kissing habits.

I think that you are reading into kisses on the end of texts far too much. 3 is generally standard, but anymore than that and it could be suggesting something. If somebody says "love" on the end of the text and spells it correctly, surely that's a more accurate sign that they may be interested then some crosses on a text message?

haha, i always say "love" when i text ally or zoe, but then we say "i love you hunni" a lot to each other in person neway :)

yeh, i agree 3 is standard. the only way to tell i guess is- if you like her, start adding a couple more kisses than usual and see if she reciprocates?...

and i send the "silly and more" number to caz lol - i fill up however many spaces i have left in the text with them! haha loserness :)

I have been known to say love when I text Ally too, but that's because everybody loves Ally!
I put love on texts to Sam too, but that's normally "Love Tubsie or Goatse" etc lol!!

I put three for a significant other, and two for friends - two kisses (even if they're not on the cheek) are very continental dah-ling! :P
