1. I've had umeshu before but ngl, the overwhelming taste even for that for me is that of alcohol. Same with the kiwi wine I brought back from my holiday for my father - I can taste that it is a lot sweeter than most alcohol, but the overwhelming taste is still that of alcohol. Same with beer, cider, etc. I guess it's in my DNA. :P And even with the liquor-filled chocolates, I just don't like tasting the alcohol, even though there's the taste of chocolate, too ( ... )

I haven't had my coffee yet, so I'm sorry in advance if some of my rambling doesn't make any sense. ;P

1. In a way, I guess I understand the appeal of getting drunk to forget or something, though it's obviously not only unhealthy but also a very dangerous path to go down, especially when you're drinking alone, so I hope I'll always stay away from that. I like the "drinking enough to not really forget but to make you generally care just a bit less about things, in good company" approach formerly known as oh wow, this exam was the worst. Not getting really drunk, so you're probably more or less completely sober again before you go to bed?
And the taste is probably just, well, different tastes. There are a lot of kinds of alcohol I'd never drink because they're disgusting to me, and then there are some I absolutely love.

2. I'm at a total loss. I've never liked horeses or ponies.

3. Spaaace! I mean. For me, part of it is that space is simply beautiful too look at. And then there's the fact that it's just so unbelievably huge and that ( ... )

ahhhhhh, please explain your icon! XD

1. That makes a lot of sense to me, thanks!

3. That's a great explanation, thanks again :D

4. I think having bread sliced at the bakery doesn't count :P But haha yeah, I'm not amazing at slicing loaves of brea, either. XD But yeah, bread that is prepackaged already sliced isn't really good, but I guess the saying refers to the convenience? Like, grab a bag of sliced bread and one doesn't have to worry about slicing it or waiting for it to be sliced.

Thanks for answering! You've been super helpful :D

OH MY GOD. Okay, so it's an open secret I only watch The Voice of Germany for the bromances between the coaches, and Rea Garvey and Samu Haber have been worse/better than anyone before them before the show even started. And this week two of their singers were up against each other, and FOR WHATEVER REASON Samu suggested he'd kiss Rea if his guy got to the finals, and, AGAIN, FOR WHATEVER REASON, Rea later on offered to kiss him if his candidate won. (Team Rea won that round. That kiss was everyting I ever wanted. I kind of died. YOU RPS OTPS DON'T KISS THAT OFTEN.)

Yeah, that makes sense. I mean it is more concenient - but at what cost?? But I'm genetically supposed to be a bread snob, anyways. ;P
(Does toast count? Because if toast didn't come in slices already I'd be doomed, my own sliced wouldn't even fit into the toaster. xD)

haha, thanks for the explanation XD

And I forgot about toasters...XD There wasn't a toaster in my house in the UK because the one that had been there kept tripping the circuit breaker, so all my housemates just toasted bread in the oven. XD But I guess toast counts, haha...XD

1. I guess it's a genetic thing, then, since I honestly can't really taste anything except the alcohol when I drink!

2 & 3. That makes tonnes of sense, thanks!

4. The convenience seems to be a big part of it, as other people have pointed out in their comments! Although I don't see how uniformly sliced bread would allow one to make better use of a loaf of bread? O:

Thanks for answering! :D

I can't answer number 1, because I can't see the appeal of alcohol at all ( ... )

Thank you so much for that explanation about ponies! That makes tonnes of sense. Although now I have to ask, how can having something that depends on oneself be appealing? :\ That seems like something extremely unappealing thing to me!

And #3 does seem very related, at least according to other people who have commented on this post!

Thanks for answering! :D

I think for some people - perhaps especially, but probably not only, girls who are socialised into a caring/nurturing role - having some animal or person who depends on you is a way to feel loved and important. 'X needs me' is a role in life and can provide stability and regularity; and for a lot of children, taking care of a pet will be an early form of responsibility.

1. How did alcohol make you feel? I just get fuzzy, but I don't enjoy that and much prefer being clear-headed! And since I don't like the taste of alcohol, I really only enjoy alcoholic drinks where I can't taste the alcohol. :P

2. What is the appeal of horses, then? I mean, I'd like to ride one, but I'm not sure I want to own one....

3. That makes a lot of sense, thanks!

4. Oooh, it's great that the market near you does that! And the sandwich thing makes tonnes of sense!

Thanks for answering! :D

1) Less constrained. I felt I could do more and not worry about it. That really wasn't a good way to feel, and that's one of the reasons I stopped drinking 18 years 6 months, and 22 days ago. (Yes, I count.) I've never stopped wanting to drink. But, I no longer want that feeling.

2) I'm not sure as I don't see it myself. Back when they were a major mode of transportation I guess it made more sense. Just like many people are very involved with cars now. Maybe it has to do with that?
To me they are big, smelly animals that set off my allergies.
I don't know why people like them.
