kind of sorry

I would like to express my sincere sympathy for your circumstances. Unfortunately, I've already used up my sympathy feeling sorry for myself. But if it makes you feel better, I do think that, in principle, I should be sorry to hear that you spent all day in a dark, dank room scribbling cryptic and nonsensical symbols that may or may not (probably not) have represented anything real or credibly imaginable by anyone remotely sane and normal.

P.S. Whatever happened to the era when we could assume that a power outage was a sign from some greater being that school work just wasn't meant to be performed on that particular day?
My spare time, when I can escape from classes and hw, is spent grading papers and helping other transportation grad students with their hw. We're exciting people, us grad students.
Continuing on the theme of what a rotten friend I am. I remembered your birthday! I did! I remembered it all the way to the day after your birthday. And then the week after your birthday. And then the month after your birthday. Until I found myself sitting across the desk from some bank adviser setting up a checking account with Cambridge Savings Bank earlier this week, thinking, "Why did I not call the Crysta on her birthday? Or even write 'Happy Birthday' on her wall? I am a rotten friend, and I want a Crysta. If I had a Crysta with me now, I would hug her to make up for being such a rotten friend."
Happy belated birthday, Crysta, and I miss you too!

...sooo, this is kind of delayed because I'm a rotten friend, but...
Oh, no, why were you feeling sorry for yourself?
